| This talk locates much of the opposition to lesbian and gay unions within a line of what I call 'horrible hermeneutics', i.e., biblical interpretation which has harassed slaves, coloured people, illegitimate children, witches, even women, and so on, instead of loving them unconditionally. It is only twenty minutes long, and was given to the Moreton Deanery Synod, in Ashburton, Devon, in January 2017, as part of its consideration of homosexuality as a theological and pastoral matter.
