| I gave this lecture to the ecumenical Contemporary Theology Group which meets in St. Peter’s Methodist Church, Canterbury, in January 2016. It is one of a series of public lectures which introduces some of the themes of my book Redeeming Gender, which Oxford University Press will publish in July 2016. The argument was given added poignancy by the decision, also in Canterbury and in the previous week, of the Anglican Primates to suspend the Episcopal Church of the USA from the Anglican Communion. That decision is also analysed in the lecture. |
