Family's Many Faces

I gave this lecture to a Theology research conference, also called Families Many Faces, in St. Paul University, Ottawa, Canada, in May 2010. It popularizes some key ideas from my book Theology and Families (see My Books). It takes seriously that in the UK and elsewhere, half of all children born, are born outside of marriage. It tries to build a bridge between 'traditional' and less traditional families by asking what it is about marriage that makes it commendable ('marital values'). The next question, answered with a cautious 'Yes', is whether marital values can be found in relationships which are not formal marriages.
