| I gave this lecture to the Centre for the Study of Christianity and Sexuality, in 2001. The distinction between norms and rules may sound dry and trivial, yet when it becomes blurred, it causes havoc within sexual ethics. I demonstrate this by comparing marriage as a norm with marriage as a rule. |
