| This is the text of a talk I gave to a group of Anglicans, a Deanery Synod, in Stafford, UK, in October 2010. The title was given to me, and the talk is the result. It was part of a series on the body. If you have looked at some of the other lectures on my website you will see that it has much in common with an earlier lecture this year, 'Dismal Prospects for a Christian Theology of Gender'. Both lectures draw on themes that are much developed in my new book 'God, Sex and Gender' which will be published by Wiley-Blackwell around March 2011. |
